My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of staying at Karen’s home for our first visit to the big island, and we had an amazing time! We could tell Karen has put a lot of time and work into the property, her naturalist vibe is showcased throughout the home. There was everything we needed, from filtered water, to cookware, to a book of island tips/recommendations. The hot tub was lovely, and the view? Beautiful. We enjoyed relaxing on the deck area and eating the fresh oranges. We saw plenty of geckos & even a family of boars. I would recommend Karen’s place to anyone looking for a natural escape that feels like home. Thank you for the great stay!

This location offers many of the things people think of when looking for a peaceful Hawaii vibe. It has ocean and mountain views, palm trees and other fruiting trees. The oranges from her tree were the best I have ever had. You can lay in the hammock at night and watch the clear dark sky, (meaning there is no light pollution). The cottage is very charming and comfortable and the property is very private. There is a fresh fruit shack nearby and horseback riding on a ranch which goes up into the mountains. Karen is very proactive. She got in touch to make sure I knew how to get there, and to ask if I needed anything. Overall, it was a very nice place to stay with a quiet retreat-like atmosphere.
