Car
There are two ferries to bring a car to the Isle of Arran:
Ardrossan to Brodick
55 minutes. Vehicle reservations are recommended.
Claonaig in Kintyre to Lochranza
30 minutes. No advance booking is necessary on this sailing. In winter, the ferry from Kintyre leaves from Tarbert (Loch Fyne), not Claonaig.
Bus
If you are relying on public transport, regular buses operate to fit in with the ferry times. There are three main bus routes covering North Arran, South Arran and the String.
In the summer there are also sightseeing buses taking tours around the island.
Taxi
Taxis are available, although can be expensive and there are not many of them
Bike
Bike hire is available including electric bikes. It is a hilly island!
