This beautifully renovated cottage on top of the Burren, near Poulnabrone Dolmen, is a warm comfortable space for families and friends to reconnect. 10 mins drive from Ballyvaughan, a picturesque fishing village with shops & restaurants, “Poulnabrucky” is remote and secluded, surrounded only by fields, flowers, cattle and views. The perfect place to relax and socialise inside or in the spacious garden. The house has 4 double bedrooms all with very comfortable beds and high quality linen. 2 are super-king (one of which can be split into 2 singles), 2 are kingsize. There is one shared bathroom with shower, loo and sink, and a second ensuite bathroom also with shower, loo and sink. The house is mainly on one level, but one of the bedrooms (with the single bed option) is up a spiral staircase. There is no way to block this staircase off so guests need to be aware that it is a potential hazard and unsuitable for small children. (It is also inadvisable to walk under the stairs as hitting your head is very painful!) For guests with babies, we have a travel cot and a high chair. However we do not supply bedding as our experience is that guests prefer to bring their own. The house has a fully equipped kitchen and utility room with electric Smeg Range with induction hob, Neff dishwasher, Samsung washing machine and Bosch condenser drier, a Siemens larder fridge and a separate small freezer for your use. After using the drier you'll need to remove the drawer to empty the condensate reservoir. We supply a small amount of washing machine capsules. These and other cleaning products can be found under the kitchen sink. There is direct access to the garden terrace from this room through a traditional Irish half-door. The house has two sitting rooms, each of which has a stove. The main sitting room is at the front of the house. This very large room has a long dining table, a smaller games table and an area around the fire with sofas and chairs. There is a Panasonic music system available for your use. There are 5 table lamps in the room which are operated from a remote control which should be kept on the book case. Briquettes and firewood can be purchased at the petrol station in Ballyvaughan. The second sitting room is small and cosy with a large flat screen tv and sound bar. There is a DVD player with a selection of DVDs. The TV has a firestick to access your netflix/amazon/disney/ etc accounts. There is no terrestrial TV at the house. The room is comfortably furnished with chairs, a sofa and poufs. There is direct access to the garden terrace from this room. The bedroom and ensuite bathroom is located beyond the small sitting room. All the other bedrooms and family bathroom are located off the large sitting room. All bedrooms have hanging space, mirrors, waste paper baskets, bedside lamps and tables. Bedlinen is high quality egyptian cotton percale with a minimum 400 thread count. Pillows and duvets are all feather. We have a number of synthetic ones for guests with allergies - please notify us if you require these. Outside there is a terrace with a stone table by the kitchen, and a further table and chairs with a glass windbreak at the end of the house by the ensuite bedroom. The garden is spacious and with garden chairs available from the small shed through the pergola. A BBQ is available during the summer months. The water supply to the house is filtered and UV'd rainwater. We have three large tanks, but during prolonged periods of dry weather it is possible to run out of water at which point we'd need to have water delivered - an expensive and time consuming procedure. We would ask that you use water mindfully while staying at the house to protect this valuable resource, but particularly during hot and dry spells. The kitchen has a recycling and a general waste bin. The list of recycling is posted on the fridge. Guests need to take their rubbish to the main bins at the end of the drive. The code for the bins will be provided on booking. Glass is not accepted in either bin by our bin collectors. There are glass recycling facilities in Carron, Ballyvaughan and Kinvara. Please ensure you take your glass with you when you leave.
