The Hideaway was beautiful and the host was responsive, but the waterfront description was misleading, the living room was not air conditioned, and therefore the price was too high. The listing mentions fishing and kayaking, but the canal was dry and overgrown with waist-high grass and the lake itself was about 8 feet below the retaining wall, with overgrown banks and no stairs for access. The only way to access the water was to walk down a ramp into the canal and walk through the very tall grass to get to the water. I feel like the water should have been more accessible with a path, or the description in the listing should have better reflected the reality of the situation. There have been some dam failures which have affected the water level, but that started in May 2019 so the listing could have been updated. Also, the downstairs living area was not air conditioned and could benefit from a window unit or mini split. The place was beautiful and very well cared for but costs too much.

Wonderful location with access to the Guadalupe. The pool was amazing and it was great to have access to kayaks and paddle boards.

Very nice property and not too far from New Braunfels. It was a nice place to stay for the weekend.

I almost don’t even want to review this place bc it was so amazing, I’m afraid it will constantly be booked. We went for a quick get a way with our 3 kiddos and had an absolute blast! This property is insanely gorgeous and one of a kind. Sunsets are incredible and it’s such a treat to have a pool to hop in after spending time on the lake. The apartment was fully stocked and the owners were very welcoming and kind. We will 1000% be coming back!
