The estate has served as an infirmary during the civil war, a place to gamble, dance, eat, drink, and a home away from home for generations. Newly renovated in 2021, come enjoy a modern stay at a historic and secluded Inn.
The Buckhorn Inn was just what I was looking for. A comfy room, cheerful staff, breakfast and dinner if desired. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and the local towns are fun to explore. I wanted a quiet get away and this was perfect. I would go back!
We stayed a night at the Buckhorn on our way to Snowshoe and we were absolutely delighted with our experience. The establishment itself is a historic home, dating back to 1811, that has been updated, but only to the point of the additions of current comforts. The historic features have been kept/restored/maintained wonderfully and it feels like stepping back in time. We stayed in the smallest room, which was all we needed. The bed was incredibly comfortable and we slept great! As great as the stay itself was, the food was next level. Amanda’s homemade desserts are , just, wow. No words. Just… wow. I had the key lime lush and didn’t want to finish because it tasted so good I didn’t want it to end. For breakfast I had the crème brûlée French toast, and once again, I could not savor the dish enough. Every bite was better than the last. Highly recommend. We give it all the stars. We can’t wait to go back.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the wait staff was eager to please and we really enjoyed our conversations with all of them. The meals we had were really good.We will definitely be coming back.
Loved the stay and a simple 3.0 mile round trip hike at Chimney Hollow trail just up the road. The stay was lovely - with the option for brunch and dinner reservations throughout the weekend. We loved the manager's responsiveness and the ease of camraderie and community in the space. Met a woman that was married here 28 years ago and had returned for their anniversary. Warm, hospitable, and an excellent respite for both country folk like myself and any one looking to soak up the nature and surroundings of the Shenandoah Valley. A+
There is so much to see and do in our area. We hope some of this information will be helpful to you as your plan your stay with us.

自我介绍
Jack and I are partners in life as well as business. We own and operate a local restaurant, The Thomas House, and The Inn at Thomas House. We have now added The Buckhorn Inn and Tavern! We are both college graduates, we share our lives with an incredible ten year old, and a few furry and feathery friends (animals are not in the Airbnb spaces)! Brenda enjoys reading, cooking, hiking, kayaking, vineyards, coffee, gardening/landscaping, and finding beauty in the ever-changing journey of life. Jack enjoys hiking, kayaking, camping (and all the gear associated with the aforementioned activities!), coffee, cooking, local breweries, and gardening. When the weather is nice, and we have a day off, you can usually find us on one of the many rivers in the valley. We want you to enjoy your visit to the Shenandoah Valley, as much as we enjoy living here. Love more, hate never.
