Beautiful surrounding quiet and peaceful but the yurt wasn’t the same as the photos we were expecting 2 double beds as four adults had booked and the photos depicted that
We had an amazing stay in Herdwick 1, the yurt was just as described and pictured. Some tea, coffee and the wood for the fire was provided to start us off. Perfect location, close to Coniston where there’s everything you need shop wise and a short drive from a lot of local walks and beautiful scenery surrounded us. The jams from the honesty box are definitely worth a buy!
We chose the place for the close location to the hills we had planned to walk and cycle so it was perfect for that. The yurt had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Just remember to buy the essentials like milk and logs as we only just had enough for the first night (6 logs) and the campsite warden/shop was closed by the time we got back from the hills late afternoon on Saturday. Although there is a heater, the yurt was cooler in the evenings. Overall the place was as described and we particularly appreciated the comfy beds after long day on the fells. Thank you Karina.
A lovely, cosy base to explore the Lake District. The yurt itself is well decorated and warm with the log fire and the heater on. Great views from the outdoor seating area outside. Toilet blocks aren’t far and were clean with warm showers. Would recommend!
