Lovely cottage in a fantastic location. Very peaceful and enjoyed sitting outside for dinner with no midges! Comfortable beds and sofa. Local Chinese take away in Langholm was excellent. Hope to return for a bit of fishing when the conditions are more favourable.

We enjoyed another really lovely stay in a peaceful setting with easy access to the nearest town Langholm. We couldn’t thank our hosts enough and thought the welcome gift was a really homely touch. Comfortable beds and clean accommodation accompanied with lots of local knowledge and recommendations. We would have no hesitation to recommend to others and will be back to visit in the future. Lovely cottage in a beautiful place with a lovely welcome and really helpful host. A great base to explore the borders and brilliant to have the chance to go fishing. Would recommend and hope to be back.

We had a lovely few days at Burnfoot, seven adults staying in two of the cottages. It was a nostalgia trip for two if us as we stayed there as children, prior to John's time. We thoroughly enjoyed talking to John about his local conservation work and loved all the bird feeders around the stable block that attracted so many species. We didn't have enough time to take advantage of all the local walks but the ones we did were very enjoyable. The cottages were comfortable and well-equipped - we all slept very well! We thoroughly recommend the Burnfoot cottages to anyone wanting a peaceful place to stay surrounded by nature.
