La Casetta . Home Truly how one feels when turning up the driveway after wandering the chianti wine road .As you look up towards the house you may be distracted by white tail deer grazing in the fields beside you where the olive trees grow and the blackberries abound in the summer . But most likely you will be drawn to the elegant stone house on the hill where you will arrive to some of the world’s most beautiful views seen from one of the most welcoming homes in Tuscany . The total quiet of La Casetta is a great gift after a day exploring the close by cities of Florence and Siena. A vine covered pick nick area overlooks the pool, the large table by the kitchen overlooks the olive groves and the balcony off the master suite provides you with a view that inspires your soul to rest. The house itself is a glorious combination of big, beautiful rooms and comforting cozy spots to read a book, enjoy the sun set or reflect while in front of a crackling fire. The large gourmet country kitchen features a great wooden table that seats 8 Through the kitchen to the formal dining room it’s hard not to get comfortable in the big chairs looking at the view, Exit the dining room though the wooden double doors you enter in a peaceful master bedroom and it’s en-suite bathroom embraced by the winter garden. On the other side of the dining room are three steps that take you to the cozy den with its large fireplace. Upstairs are two bedrooms and a what we call the cozy room. The large master bedroom has king size bed, a mix of today’s and yesterday’s furniture, a walk in closet and an en-suite bathroom, no bath tub, just a large shower. The smaller bedroom with ample closet space, is occupied by a queen size bed shares a bathroom with the cozy room (with double bed) The house has grown organically over the years for our families needs. Guests receive all the benefits of all the linens and towels and comfortable and original art works. Outside the house the extensive grounds take you passed the chicken coop where the chickens provide us with eggs daily and at night Oscar and Coco - our dogs and hopefully when you come you will love as much as we do -sleep there at night sharing the space with them Continuing up the hill you can walk up to the ridge where the cypress tree show the beginning of the neighbors land and you can peep at his vine yards and walk around the forest - remember you closed shoes Turning in the other direction, you can wonder down through the garden of roses and geraniums to the full size pool overlooking the olive groves. You’ll experience crystal clear mornings, beautiful lazy sunny afternoons and the occasional 20 minute summer rain which passes by Tuscany.
