Really nice home, with an wonderful view. The hosts took really good care of us. The house provided a pool and a table tennis table. We can recommend a stay at A&M at any time and will definitely come back.

Wir hatten einen schönen Aufenthalt im A&M house 2. Man hat einen super Ausblick den man auch aus dem Pool genießen kann. Vor Ort hat man das nötigste was man für einen Urlaub benötigt. Handtücher etc. werden zur Verfügung gestellt. Es war ein schöner Urlaub den wir gerne mal wiederholen möchten.

WoW! Just back from A&M II & wholeheartedly missing the ambience & tranquillity already. I realise this review should be for the most part about the house but I can't help but tell you at least a few things about our experience in Madeira. Our personal travel goals are to generally avoid the tourism trap & immerse ourselves in as much local culture as possible. A&M house II located in Arco da Calheta was geographically perfect to meet those ambitions. Dependent on your own requirements I guess a car isn't an absolute necessity but we'd certainly advise it to make the most out off your stay in Madeira. Funchal (Capital) is a mere half hour drive away from the house and crossing the island is an easy 40/50 minutes via main roads 'a little longer if you explore the smaller more scenic routes. Though stunning scenery is pretty much everywhere you look, whichever route you take! We visited the majority of key areas of the island throughout our 10 day stay and still found time to stay still and enjoy the house for a few full days of relaxation. That said, in terms of exploration … We feel we could visit once a year for the next decade and still have plenty of exploration avenues available to us. A&M house II does not disappoint. Every amenity & small luxury is catered for. Whether you want to work out, practice some yoga, play some games with the family, swim, soak up some sun or just relax with a film. The accommodations fulfilled all our needs perfectly. Everything we needed to create pleasurable home dining was provided. The BBQ facility was a great feature we enjoyed on a couple of evenings. Comfortable and quiet sleeping spaces even blocked out the very minimal noise there ever was locally. With x4 showering areas, the family can be up and ready together in no time. Laundry is also not an issue as the utility room provides all you'll need to refresh clothing throughout your stay. In essence A&M house II provides everything making it comparable to a home from home experience. The sunsets from A&M house II are to die for, the views from the balcony are stunningly magnificent, the locality of the house & all amenities are fantastic. To be honest the island of Madeira (if you've never visited) is an absolute wondrous dream. We truly can't wait to get back! *Key local pointers Praia da Calheta (Beach) - 5/10 min drive provides you with a couple of local man made sand beach areas. Suitable for sea swimming that's protected from the elements. The beach/marina and surrounding provides a substantially sized supermarket - Pingo Doce & numerous restaurants in which we enjoyed a couple of lunches. Whale & dolphin watching! For the adventurous 'Lobosonda' Madeira whale watching tours are the only local operator that provides a chance to snorkel with the dolphins. We'd advise checking the advance weather conditions & booking your slots before your trip commences as snorkelling slots fill up fast. They're a little more expensive than the rest but they are the longest serving and best reviewed. As there was unfortunately no availability above, we chose 'On Tales' for our experience & where not disappointed. All tours seem very environmentally minded & give the whales and dolphins the space they need. We saw pilot whales with their young and around 20 bottle nose dolphins on our trip. Well worth the time & expense. "A Poita" is a low key busy local seafood restaurant around 5/10 mins drive away in Madalena Do Mar. If you're a fan of fish dishes, you'd be crazy to ignore this place! We noted this is where the local residents where visiting. Basic but awesome place! Finally I should of course mention our host Alexis. Although we didn't meet him in person, he came across as very approachable and accommodating via our messaging and I wouldn't have hesitated to contact him should we have needed him during our stay. We arrived late and this was no problem, Sandra was very friendly and explained everything to us very well (great English communications.) Ultimately I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Alexis and the A&M house II. It's a 5* review from us 'we'll be back there some day soon I can assure you. But then you'd probably already gathered that from the length of this review :)

The house has everything you need. Perfect for chilling with an amazing view. Price-Performance is outstanding!
