Beautiful stay, it’s 11km from ella so is very peaceful, you feel sounded by nature. We had a trip to a waterfall and did a cooking class as well as relaxing by to pool. I would recommend staying at least two nights so you can make the most of what is on offer. Thank you for a memorable stay.

Upali's place is the perfect location to unwind and get away from the bustle of Ella. The containers made for a unique stay and the way the bed faces the large window almost makes it seem like you're sleeping outdoors in a large tree house, with the tree branches swaying and the birds chirpping in the morning. Upali and his family were wonderful hosts and the food was delicious!

A bit of a mixed bag - some things really excellent, some need some work. The excellent: The jungle tour we arranged with Upali's in house tuk tuk driver was perhaps the vest thing we did in Sri Lanka. Totally off the beaten track, swimming in beautiful waterfalls and hanging out with the guy was a total joy. Come just for that! It's quite a cool concept trying to do something different right in the middle of the jungle The not so good: Seemed to be alot of confusion when we arrived about how long we were staying and if we were even coming at all. This meant that the room wasn't properly ready - no duvet, no toilet paper, no internet. We had also requested a meal which they then didn't know anything about. Upali was gracious and fixed everything but there seemed to have been a serious breakdown in communication. Not really a view from the room which is a shame when there are such amazing view around. Also the curtains aren't thick enough to keep out the outside lighting. It's quite far from Ella (about 40 mins in a tuk tuk) which does mean you are rather stranded out there

I cannot recommend staying with Upali enough. It was amazing! On arrival we were greeted with fresh coconuts and shown to our eco lodge. The lodge was spotless, really cool designed and comfortable with great air conditioning. The location is beautiful with a really nice area to sit and drink tea and coffee. The breakfast provided was very good, it was fresh and tasty, the best we have had all trip. Not to mention Rosie, Upali’s very cute dog! Upali recommended the tuk tuk driver who was the best guide we have had all holiday. He took us on a jungle tour of all the local waterfalls where there were no tourists which we could swim in and then to all the main sights in Ella such as Ella rock and little Adams peak. If you are going to Ella and want adventure, fantastic hospitality, and a beautiful location this is the place for you. Thank you for such an amazing memorable trip!!
