We just returned from an amazing stay at John’s beautiful home. The home was extremely clean and the kitchen was very well stocked with everything we needed. We loved the yard for our dog and being able to walk out on the rocks off of the yard. The house is a great size for two couples traveling together or a family with kids. So much space and two living rooms is great to spread out. We absolutely loved the location. It’s walking distance to everything. Definitely take a walk to the causeway. There’s a small beach there that’s very quiet and the views are beautiful, especially at sunset! The lobster dock wasn’t a problem for us. They do start very early in the morning but the noise wasn’t to bad. Also, you can go down to the dock and buy lobsters right from them! The restaurant next door is super convenient too for delicious food! Overall, we loved our stay at John’s house and can’t wait to return next summer!

Good location and the layout of the house is fantastic for two families sharing the house. A bedroom and bathroom on one floor and another upstairs with its own bathroom makes privacy easy to maintain. This kitchen is well stocked... I frankly can't think of anything negative to say. John was extremely accommodating and stayed in touch with us throughout our stay.

We had a wonderful time at John’s place! With three teenagers, two adults, and one tween, we had plenty of space! We had everything we needed: linens, towels, all the kitchen essentials and more, and plenty of comfort and coziness. Highly recommend!

Super clean and very large house with so many interesting books! John is a very nice host,he responded to our message very quickly and gave us very helpful information.As I asked about Thunder Hole, He suggested the best time to visit there is 2 hours before high tide and told us each high tide time in the coming 7 days! Then I downloaded Tides App from Apple Store and went to Thunder Hole before high tide and Bar Island Bridge after low tide. As for coming guests in this house, Seawall picnic area, Echo Lake beach, Long Pond in the nearby, are good places to visit in your 7 day stays. Sunset at Seal Cove picnic area and Azalea Garden in Acadia are also attractive .If you have time, driving 75 minutes to visit Schoodic Point is fascinating!! All places mentioned above can be easily found on Google Map.

Very well-appointed and clean home with especially complete kitchen supplies. Historic enough to feel part of the Maine experience but also very comfortable. Very helpful and responsive hosts. The location in Southwest Harbor is a lovely and relaxing town. The short drive to Acadia was stunningly beautiful in mid October. Hiking nearby at Wonderland, Ship Harbor was lovely, Schoodic Point was a stunning half day trip, the Acadia Ocean Path, Cadillac Mountain, the Loop Road, Jordan Pond popovers, the many lobster pounds and finally a piece of blueberry pie and vanilla ice cream from Quietside Cafe just up the road. This home was a great base for all of these treats.
