Bayfront House Your next adventure on the Oregon Coast awaits at this updated Newport escape which boasts the best views in town of Yaquina Bay, the fishing fleet, and the historic Yaquina Bay Bridge! Offering remodeled bathrooms and new furnishings, this home enjoys a perfectly private location that's an easy stroll from the Bayfront. Inside, you'll have a private dry sauna, Ping-Pong table, stainless steel appliances to assist you in the kitchen, and flatscreen TVs throughout. What's nearby: Owned by a commercial fishing family that catches Dungeness crab and sablefish, this home, located on a secluded street up above Bay Boulevard, is two blocks from the Newport Historic Bayfront, allowing you to stroll, purchase fresh seafood right from the boats, and view the sea lions with ease. You'll find numerous restaurants there as well as galleries and shops! Access the beach at Yaquina Bay State Park on the west end of the Bayfront, or head over to the Nye Beach turnaround where you'll find a long stretch of sand to explore. You can also go whale watching with Marine Discovery Tours, charter a fishing trip, or visit the Pacific History and Maritime Museum, just a short walk from your rental. Things to know: Barking sea lions sometimes provide an atmospheric soundtrack in the front bedroom; earplugs are provided for those light sleepers in your party. 1 dog(s) are welcome in this home. We loved the view of the bayfront and the very walkable location -- the bayfront and all it has to offer was an easy walk. We drove to different beaches every day, it would have been possible to walk to the beach near the mouth of the harbor/ lighthouse, but it would have been a pretty big walk with time on the beach included. Vacasa was very responsive when we couldn't get the sauna to work. They sent a repair person out the next morning. My husband didn't like the noisy sea lions. I enjoyed them, though sleeping through their constant conversation took some getting used to. The house was a good space. I liked the simple decor. The bookshelf had a lot of good stuff to choose from. The beds were comfortable.
Beautiful view from the deck. Large rooms. Upstairs shower leaking through the ceiling into the kitchen. The smoke detector started beeping in the middle of the night. Had to get a step ladder from the garage and change the battery. Upstairs very stuffy. Suggest visitors bring box fans to improve air mov.ement. Lots of cobwebs on the exterior of the house. Must walk through a bedroom to get to the adjacent bedroom. Very close walk to restaurants and shops
Great July vacation rental for our "girls getaway" of three generations of family women (ages 15-68). Welcoming, good communication, spacious and clean home with a beautiful view, relaxing. The kitchen was roomy and had everything we needed to cook a few meals in. The beds and furniture were very comfortable (did not use the hide-a-bed, but our teen was comfortable on the futon). Lots of extra bedding for those that might want it. Great place to play table games, to sit on the deck with coffee and a book, or even joy a movie together. Walkable area if you can handle walking up and down the hill a short a few blocks to the marina and historic area, but we opted to drive down. Fun shopping, docks, and dining. The sauna looked inviting, but we didn't try it out. We didn't bring out dog with us this time, but she would have loved it. If you don't mind stairs, this house makes a perfect vacation spot.
We had a wonderful time at this wonderful house, looking forward to staying here again!
Such a beautiful home! We were very comfortable and had lots of space. The view was phenomenal. The home being through an agency made check in a little more complicated, but once we were in, everything was great.
