This was our second stay in Manolis’s villa, having been in 2022, this time we brought our friends and it was just as good as we remembered it. This is like no other Airbnb, and we’ve tried a few over the last 12 years. Manolis and Mrs Rumy, the housekeeper, are both delightful, friendly and welcoming, the villa is spacious and comfortable and the setting beautiful. Manolis is a wealth of information about the local area and always makes time to visit the villa during our stay and Mrs Rumy provides delicious home cooking at a very modest rate. Can’t recommend highly enough.

We had an amazing stay at this Airbnb! The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming, making the experience even more enjoyable. Mrs. Romy's cooking was an absolute highlight - some of the best we’ve had in all of Crete. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a fantastic and hospitable vacation spot. Also, the location of this Airbnb is perfect for those who want to enjoy the beautiful Crete countryside while still being within a reasonable distance of some stunning beaches. It offers the best of both worlds, and we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay during my trip. Highly recommended!

We had an Amazing time staying at Amari Villas. Manolis was a great host. He provided with us with a ton of information of things to do and places to see in both in the surrounding area and around Crete. Manolis is very responsive to any requests you may have. Also, if you have the chance, I would highly recommend ordering Mrs. Rumy’s cooking, which is incredible. Would highly recommend staying here!

A hidden gem in central Crete. Manolis offers a beautiful holiday villa along with plenty of local tips of what to visit, where to eat etc. For us (since we are traveling with a 4 year old) the big plus was Rumy the housekeeper who lives in the lower floor of the villa (totally seperate by the way), she makes delicious meals for dinner, lunch and breakfast. Just order the day before and you’re treated like royals. 100% recommended!

I’m a construction engineer and live in Rethymno with my wife Roula and our two daughters. When I returned to Crete after university, I realised that our old family house in Amari was in need of repair; it had been my grandparents’ home and was a place full of sweet memories. So, I embarked on a journey - a labour of love: to restore the house and keep the memory of those idyllic childhood summers alive. Today, I’m delighted to welcome guests from all over the world to our property, and introduce them to the beauty of the Amari valley. When my diary allows, I love to accompany guests to interesting places nearby, like the tiny Byzantine chapels hidden in the ancient olive groves, or even just around the village, for a visit to the Old School's Museum or for a drink at the local cafe. When I’m not in Amari (and not at work), I enjoy yoga, music, and riding my motorcycle. I have recently become the proud owner of a small vineyard and began to make my own raki. Soon, as a novice winemaker, I look forward to offering you my home-made organic wine. It’s always a pleasure for me to answer any questions about the villas or the Amari, so please, contact me.
