It was a nice stay for our family. I felt the photos on the website were a little deceiving, we were looking for a remote location and this was in a neighborhood. The home lacks a newer interior, the toilet leaked, the fridge was pretty full and then we did not have room for our things. The floors appeared not vacuumed, as we found toenails in the bathroom, and ran out of toilet paper within 3 days, the stove and backflash were strained and dirty. Wi-fi was definitely an issue as we had to continuously sign on, our teens were not happy! Trash also was an issue as we ran out of space to place it, according to the owners directions. This was my first time with accessing these types of sites and home, so the reservation and payment were easy, but we were a little disappointed in the cleanliness and accessories.

This house is absolutely a fantastic find if you’re looking for a quiet space with views for your Durango trip. The location and hospitality can’t be beat as it’s close to town (15-20mim to the center of town), yet at the edge of the community to ensure the access to the hiking and biking trails. We used Florence’s home for a family vacation and were pleased with how well stocked it was. Plenty of dishes and silverware (at points we had 20 people we were feeding), plenty of seats inside and out, great floor plan, and of course the amazing deck and views for morning coffe or an evening cocktail. There is also access to the miles of neighborhood trails at the top of the drive which were very enjoyable for daily walks. If you’re looking for a house for a group trip put this at the top of your list.

We all had such a nice time at Tatanka Lodge. The 8 of us, a baby and our dog were very easily accommodated. The view from the porch inspired all of us. The kitchen was very well stocked and to have a dishwasher was extra good! We all look forward to future visits to Durango and when we do we hope Tatanka Lodge is available. Good job, Ms Gaia!
