Hi there Airbnb guests, We are the Community Council for the Sheeps head/Kilcrohane/Ahakista and surrounding areas. You will mostly will be dealing me Annette who works part time for the community. The funds from the Airbnb rentals will go towards upkeep building and fund lots of community projects such as the older peoples social club, Kids/family Easter egg hunt, Youth groups etc. Hi my name is Annette, I am married with 3 children. I moved to the area about 12 years ago, and fell in love with the area as well as a local man.... I work with the local Community Council and my colleague Eileen O'Mahony and I manage the loft accommodation on behalf of the Community Council. We are part of a great team of people who strive to promote our area and to provide community services for all ages within our local rural community. All the proceeds from Airbnb are invested back into the local community. Money is used to maintain the Alice West Centre and to support local community council projects throughout the year. When I have some spare time, I try to indulge my love of music, both Irish and County music. I am part of a group of Set Dancers that compete in local and national dancing competitions and I am also a member of the local church choir. I love meeting new people and thoroughly enjoy when people come to stay with us at the Blackgate. It is nice to meet people from other parts of the county and from all over the world. Everyone has their own story, some come to get away from work, some to catch up with the family, and others like to take some time out to clear their head and explore the beautiful area of West Cork. People love the peace and quiet the place has to offer. I look forward to meeting many more people via Airbnb. See you soon. Annette
