We loved it there. If you are looking for peace and relaxation I don't think there's anywhere better to be. Msambweni is quaint, quiet and there is nothing to do but walk on the beach, explore the pools and take dips in the ocean. The house is airy, comfortable and the staff are wonderful. Hassan is a stellar cook and can make all kinds of meals. It is paradise.

Chingwede House is an incredible location, on the edge of the ocean and away from the world. It's fantastic value for money. The house itself is spacious and rustic, well appointed with just what you need. It's set among a lovely small forest and the view of the ocean is unspoiled. There are two sets of bedrooms, two on the main floor and then two upstairs. The two upstairs are joined and perfect for families with small children. The pool is lovely and a perfect temperature. The walk down to the beach is easy and private, and it's a fun little adventure to go to the forest onto the sand. The beach itself is very uncrowded. We were often were the only people on the beach other than a few fishermen tending to their daily work. When the tide is low, the reef creates a beautiful swimming area, the temperature of bathwater and about knee high. It's great for small children as there is no surf and only a light current. We would welcome going to this fantastic location again.

We had a wonderful time in Chingwede House, the view is breathe taking, the place is surrounded by lush vegetation, and the permanent sound of waves makes the atmosphere really peaceful. We were just 2, stayed 5 days and the experience was really good. The staff was lovely. At first it was a bit unusual to have people taking care of things for us like food and cleaning but in the end we got more confortable. Hassan is a great chef, he cooked lobsters, crabs, sweet potatoes (loved it)... We had the pleasure to see dolphins and do snorkeling during a 1day boat trip (booked at the house). Indeed the only remark would be for the bathroom (upstairs), it may deserve a refresh.

A really beautiful swahili home overlooking the sea. The pool was fantastic and well-maintained. The chef was great and always discussed menu options with us which was welcome. We opted for fresh fish every meal. The main bedroom (it was only two of us) was fab, with windows out onto the sea in three directions. The bathrooms were fine, if a bit tired - nothing that affected our enjoyment.
