my family had a lovely stay at the apartment, which was very grand with the high ceilings and arch windows. The location was lovely with stunning views. the bedrooms were spacious and beds were comfortable. the only negative was it was quite loud at night with street noise in the front room. The hosts were very responsive and helped us in any way possible. overall we had a lovely time.

What can I say? A beautiful colonial apartment overlooking the Malecon in my favorite city in the world! Walking distance to great restaurants, legendary bars, historic sites, and the Malecon stretches for miles in both directions, providing one of the most scenic walkways in the universe. Nothing like it! The Cuban economy has taken a major hit, and while the Cuban people remain warm and friendly (for the most part) and incredibly informed and articulate, there is no doubt that tourism is down, and as a result, some of the night life and tourist destinations are limited. Electricity, wifi, and even water can be spotty at times (especially the wifi), and many of the comforts of first-world privilege simply do not exist in Havana or beyond. Monetary currencies are in a state of flux. Be flexible and prepared. But if you love ocean vistas, unforgettable strolls shrouded in sea spray, and the rhythms of the Spanish-speaking Caribbean, well, then, 25 Malecon is for you!

Me being the first born American of Cuban decent we decided to celebrate my 60th in Cuba. We chose to stay at Carlos’s Airbnb. The view was first class. The accommodations had a cultural ambiance. As with all of Cuba the exterior is a bit run down but that does add to the feel. Yareli the house keeper was amazing -cooked breakfast, caring , brought medicine when my wife needed it. Our trip was amazing and humbling at the same time. Strongly recommend. Only downfall would be a bit noisy neighbor and pup.

Please don’t be deterred by our less than perfect rating, but we also want potential customers to manage their expectations about this property. While we enjoyed our stay very much, the price we paid was not worth what we received. This property was multiple hundreds of dollars more expensive than alternatives and, thus, our expectations were high and unfortunately not met. Our key complaints were that the three bedrooms were interconnected and you generally needed to walk through each bedroom to get to the next. While there was a passageway outside, it was very inconvenient to exit the apartment through sticky locked doors to get from one room to the next and to the kitchen. Other issues were that the internet was not functioning, there was little to no water pressure and the washer/dryer was filled with empty plastic bottles and not functional. None of this ruined our visit, but again, when renting the most expensive apartment on AirBNB, our expectations were higher.
