A few days before the stay Daniel communicated that there was a heating issue in the bonus room and wanted to know if we would be using it. Learning we did plan to use it a consistent dialogue continued until the morning of check in letting me know and how the potential cold room situation would be resolved. Everything worked out great. We enjoyed the beautiful lake view and comfortable accommodations. Great host, great place, close to all that traverse city has to offer!

Fun place for Labor Day Weekend with Family. Great kayaking, house well stocked, second frig in basement, ping pong table, lots of games and books, big kitchen, fun beach, float toys, quiet all sports lake and neighborhood to run, good laundry room. Prior guests likely dirtied carpet a bit with sand, etc. Fishing was wonderful, particularly off dock. Close to Traverse City. Overall, a great stay!

The setting was beautiful. There was plenty of room for nine of us in the house. The lake was great for fishing and tubing and best of all it was not too busy. Kids enjoyed the sandy beach. We enjoyed walking and running in the wooded area and spotted deer whenever we went out. The kayaks were a hit with our group. Daniel was alway available to answer questions. The kitchen was well stocked with the basics . Our kids especially enjoyed playing in the upper level suite. We had a wonderful family week.

Pros: The dining room and living room have a fantastic view of the lake. There is a walkout basement leading to a shared beach (with one other home). Great for stargazing. The interior was very clean and updated. Cons: The well water had a strong sulfur smell that is impossible to ignore. The master has its own bathroom, there is a bathroom in the basement, but 3 bedrooms share 1 bathroom upstairs. The house rules regarding cleanup were extensive after paying a mandatory $450 fee. The host has also filed a complaint against us asserting that we chipped his stove, arbitrarily asking for $2000, saying the entire stove has to be replaced. We followed cleanup instructions and left the place in good condition without any damage. When we asked for better pictures of the stove, he showed us pictures with even worse damage than the pictures he originally sent. The issue is on-going. This experience has left us with a lesson: take pictures before and after for your own records

While the pictures in the listing are beautiful, they really don’t do the home justice. Everything from the layout to the decor is wonderful and the view of the lake can’t be beat. The house is large (yet feels cozy) and fit our family of 10 very comfortably. The kitchen is very (very) well stocked and perfect for making meals. The gas grill on the deck worked well and we all enjoyed hanging out on the deck. The host, Daniel, is extremely friendly and responsive and provided helpful information about the property. Overall, I would highly recommend this home.
