A Beautiful Peaceful Stay. Just what the Doctor Ordered. Cannot recommend this place enough, just far enough out of the way to be a very peaceful stay but not too far to pubs & restaurants in the car!

This was an amazing place for a stay on Islay. We could explore the entire island by car but return to Levanore each evening to a place of total rest and peace. The cottage was extremely comfortable and well-equipped, clean and thoroughly modernized.. Every need had been thought of. Jennifer, and her sister Caroline, are attentive, thoughtful and responsive. The title of Super Host is well deserved! As described there is no internet but this just added to the sense of being attached to Islay and away from the rest of the world! (there are many spots you can pick up internet (coffee shops, restaurants and all the distilleries).
This was our sixth year on Islay and our first at Lenavore, but from it will definitely be our first choice in the future. The location on The Oa is stunning, you feel completely removed from the rest of the world. On our first morning we were greeted by a hen harrier drifting past the cottage when we opened the curtains. The cottage is cosy, spotlessly clean and very well appointed. The coal fire was very welcome in the evenings after days out walking and seeing the sights. Jennifer couldn't have been more helpful both before and during our stay, top marks. All the information we needed was at hand and we were made to feel very welcome, the wee treats awaiting us upon arrival were greatly appreciated. If you want to get away from it all this ticks every box, we were sorry to leave but plan to be back next year.
Fantastic location away from it all! Watch the weather and the wildlife from the house, then curl up in front of the fire with Islay's best whiskies in a cosy and comfortable living room. You'll need a car to get around - it's about a 90 min walk from the cottage to Port Ellen. Hint: If you want a taxi on Islay - best to try and book very early!
