多塞特(Dorset) · 小屋 · 1室1床1.0卫 · 可住2人 · "Arkle" A rural cosy glamping Pod near village Inn
A fully insulated and heated detached larch built glamping Pod. ‘Arkle ’ is one of our four 'cosy' Pods, which are just as luxurious as our two ‘posh’ pods, but not as spacious. It has its own private terrace as well as TV and free Wifi. The private bathroom is located in our exclusive Pod Hub. Situated in a stunning rural location in West Dorset, just a short walk from the local thatched village Inn and striking distance of the Jurassic Coastline (aka Broadchurch!). Located at The Paddocks, which is a glamping holiday destination with Park, Pods and Pad. Our six newly built Pods are located in their own private paddock with exclusive facilities from the rest of the Park. Our pods are fully heated, so are available all year round at a fixed rate. Our prices do not fluctuate throughout the year and we offer discounts for stays longer than 4 days. Offering all year-round comfort ‘Arkle' is one of just four cosy Pods, which have been designed with utter relaxation in mind and very little “slumming it”. Your drinks will be perfectly chilled for sundowners and all that fresh Dorset air will ensure the perfect night’s sleep. Arkle measures 4.2 metres long by 3m wide, with a fitted double bed measuring 4’6” x 6’6”. There is an indoor seating area by the glazed double entrance doors with a double bean bag sofa, perfect for chilling inside or out. Or if you are a group, this bean bag sofa can double up as an extra sleeping space, accompanied by one of our optional roll out single beds if required. For the time being we ask that guests kindly bring their own bed linen and towels. In due course, as and when the current restrictions ease, we will be able to offer bed linen and towels ready for your arrival. The Pod has a kitchen unit with worktop, fridge/freezer tray, kettle, toaster, water jug and television. Cutlery and crockery is also provided. All pods have their own wonderful private decked terraces. Each have a useful storage box (for boots, coats etc), outdoor lighting, table and chairs and a charcoal barbeque/fire pit. We provide you with enough charcoal to get you going for your first night, and you can then either bring your own, by locally, or buy from us. Also for your arrival, we provide a complimentary hamper which will include, tea, coffee, sugar, fresh milk, bottle of fizzy, a couple of beers and a loo roll! We’ll even throw in a washing up bowl, washing up liquid, tea towel and sponge for you to use. We’re just spoiling you! Just 20 meters away is the communal Pod Hub, solely for the exclusive use of our Podders. It’s here that each pod has their own lockable private shower room (measuring 2m x 1.7m). Each fully fitted with a shower cubicle, WC, wash hand basin and vanity unit, electric towel rail, electric hand dryer, sanitary bin, vinyl floor and storage area. So, on arrival you can simply unpack all of your toiletries and leave them safely in situ for the duration of your stay. The Pod Hub also has a large covered communal kitchen area with lots of extra touches to help make your stay and comfortable one. For you to use as and when you please we have a microwave, worktop oven/hob/grill, sink, clothes airers, outside tap and bike racks. Parking is a hardstanding area at the entrance to the park. Vehicular access to Pods for drops off only. Social Distancing Measures Social distancing is very achievable at The Paddocks, as each pitch, Pod and Pad is well distanced from each other. • The Paddocks is in a rural location, four miles from the nearest town. Social distancing is well respected in local shops and supermarkets. • We operate a self-check-in and self-check-out system, so arriving and leaving can be done with ease. • Shared spaces, including the communal facilities will be regularly sanitised. • The Pod Hub is essentially a covered, outdoor space, so plenty of fresh air. • We have implemented detailed cleaning procedures to ensure that our pad, pods and tents are deep cleaned and sanitised before each new guest. • Each pod has its own designated lockable shower room and toilet, all fully sanitised between bookings.
What a special Easter weekend we had in the pod. Sally kindly provided a cot for our little boy and we brought our dog along too. We all had a brilliant time. Everything was as described. The shower rooms are a real bonus and the best we’ve seen on camping/glamping sites. We cooked in the communal kitchen one night which had everything we needed and we enjoyed a delicious meal at a local pub on another night. We drove just 20 mins each day to enjoy time on Lyme Regis Beach and wow, we’ll be back!
Brilliant glamping site, would highly recommend! Thank you Sally for another lovely stay in the pods!
Our long weekend stay at in the Arkle pod was perfect. Separate locked bathroom and cleaning facilities were excellent. Lovely location overlooking fields and not too far from town or the local beaches.
Sally was a fantastic host and the pod was modern, clean and warm. The private bathroom was an amazing feature and made things much easier. The area was lovely and remote, yet not too far from shops and beaches. My girlfriend and I will definitely be back!
Great pods!! Luxury with your own bathroom. We loved our evenings around the fire pit star gazing. Snack wagon next door on camp site if you dont fancy cooking, we enjoyed curry night, which was delicious. We took some fairy lights for the decking at night which made it even more romantic 😃 Sally the host was great. Location great for Dorset and Devon coast.
We are spoilt in location that’s for sure. You could say we are West, West Dorset. Located right in the Marshwood Vale, which for those of you who don’t know, is a bit special. Rural tranquillity springs to mind, with wide horizons, not to mention how blessed we are with no light pollution, which as a thank you provides us with starry filled night skies. All wrapped up in a panoramic hill filled hug from the surrounding Lewesdon and Pilsdon hills. You only have to Google it if you don’t believe us, go on type it in…Marshwood Vale………..see, we told you.
The Shave Cross Inn is a beautiful 11th Century Inn, which is only is 0.7 miles from The Paddocks. It offers a friendly welcome, with amazing local food, ales, skittle alley, table tennis and lovely beer garden.
Please Google The Paddocks Glamping for full information on places to visit and eat nearby.
There is no public transport locally, however there are regular buses from Bridport along the Jurassic coast.
Train stations are at Dorchester, Axminster and Crewkerne.
There are plenty of really reliable local taxis, please just ask when you arrive if you would like a recommendation.
Walking – it’s not all hills, honest. We are blessed with the most amazing network of public footpaths. You’ll find a walk for all capabilities. Best of all, many are accessible from the Park, so a good excuse to give your car a day off.
Cycling – our West Dorset country lanes make for the perfect days cycling. Lots of gateways, to stop catch a breath and admire the stunning views. There are a multitude of circular routes all accessible from the Park.
