It was 38 miles from our daughter’s place, whom we had come to visit (plus the last five miles were unpaved). We really appreciated that the on-site host paid attention to my comment that we were an elderly couple and placed us on the first floor. This was thoughtful and and considerate. I also was curious as to when the lodge was built and at what cost. Bob Hanson, when I talked to him, said he thought initially it had been started in 1923 and that there may have been additions over the years. He had no idea as to cost(s).

We had a wonderful, chill time at this Airbnb. What an incredibly serene place. The Eagles Nest room was exactly as described and looked like the pictures. Thanks so much!

The resort seems like they had a busy summer. Lots of evidence of hard use of equipment and facilities. However, because we booked for the fall, after Labor Day, it appeared as though cleaning the common areas or maintaining the equipment was not a priority. The bar, kitchen, dining room, and outdoor dining area were clearly not cleaned nor expected to be used. Had we known that up front, we may have chosen to stay elsewhere on our visit. One of the reasons we chose the lodge was for the availability of those amenities. Our mutual feeling was "this place has such potential." Thankfully, our suite was clean and adequately supplied. Although no staff was dedicated to being visible, there was a walkie-talkie left on the bar and, when we used it, we received a prompt response. We were looking for out-of-the way and private, and we got that. This is a beautiful place with lots of potential. I hope that they work to develop and maintain it.
