Beautiful little home in an absolutely gorgeous neighborhood on the Illinois river! River and stream access is right outside your door. The home itself was so damn cute and cozy, filled with everything you could possibly need to feel right at home. Hosts even include little care packages including soaps, coffee, snacks, really a nice touch that was appreciated. Very quick access to all the local state parks, and there is actually access to a trail right outside the neighborhood that goes on for miles and allows for convenient biking into Ottawa. Will absolutely stay again and can't recommend enough!

Nice little community. We went in the fall to take advantage of the state parks near by but I’m sure it’s fun in the summer with the pool and marina. Our kitchen could have had better pots and pans, everything was very small and we cooked in the whole time. Disappointed there was no recycling of plastic or cardboard in this community. We were 3 adults and 2 small children so we brought beds for them. We would stay here again.

There is a loft that has 4 beds. The ladder goes straight up. No air conditioning up there. There is no way any of us could sleep up there. Kids could not sleep up there with no air. The couch in the one bedroom is big enough for a toddler. It had a lot is stains on it. One queen bed and one double bed. Two of us had to sleep on the couch. House itself was great. Close to the pool.

We rented the #21 cottage in winter to visit my brother in Marseilles. One thing we loved is how close Harbor Inn is to Marseilles, Ottawa and Peru. When we arrived it was late and I didn't have any info about how to get inside the cottage. I called the host and he said I should have received 3 notices with instructions. He was nice enough to re-send me the information. Guess what? It was in my spam folder!!! That was my fault, BUT when I called he was so helpful and I was so thankful for the help! The place itself was clean and big, the online description is pretty accurate. There was plenty of space for everyone to relax. Plenty of movies to watch and some board games to play with with. It was a quiet environment and plenty of space to take a stroll/hike. We visited in the winter so we didn't get to do many water sports, but we can't wait to visit in the summer!!! Already making plans to return.
