We had a great stay at the Old Ciderhouse and Alexander was a great host. The property is very old and interesting. There is a 1895 C Bechstein grand piano which was a huge bonus for me and my boys. The surround countryside is beautiful and we managed to fit in visit to Montacute and Tintinhull Gardens on one day as well as a lovely walk through woods, wild garlic fields and quarries. Overall a fantastic stay

The Old Cider Barn was a fascinating and extremely comfortable base for our Easter weekend break with family. The beds were all extremely comfortable and the showers were excellent. To have two large double bedrooms, each with an en suite was perfect. Alex was extremely friendly and quick to respond positively to any issue. We would recommend a stay here and it is an ideal base to explore this part of the countryside with lots of National Trust properties close-by. Do not be put off by the close proximity of the A303, as the property is well shielded by a beautiful wall and we did not find this a problem whatsoever, in fact it is perfectly situated for easy access to the rest of Somerset! We had a very enjoyable stay at Alexander's Cider House - a fascinating farm location filled - to our lasting surprise - with an extensive library containing all of our very favourite texts. Alexander graciously greeted us at the door even after I muddled our arrival time coming in from Northumberland. Be prepared for the idiosyncrasies of a (renovated) building with Middle Age (or very nearly) roots; but I suspect the location will be ideal for many as it is within a reasonable drive of many locations of interest. During our short stay we managed Tintagel, Stonehenge, Avebury, Glastonbury, and an evening in torch-lit Roman Bath.

Alexander is a great host. We have stayed at his place for a number of weekend stays and his place was always spotless and was a lonely space to be in. Alexander was always helpful and keen to make our stay as comfortable as possible. His house is interesting with lots of great trinkets and pictures and games. Comfortable rooms and felt like a lovely space to be in.
