Absolutely fab little getaway spot! We arrived in the dark, and due to the wet weather and damaged ground we weren't able to drive up to our pod until the morning of departure. This wasn't a problem however, as Thomas had prewarned us to bring stout boots and torches, he even helped us carry our belongings to the pod and had started a fire for us to warm up by! Due to extra space, we were upgraded to the pod with furniture in, which was a lovely gesture and Thomas gave us the firewood free of charge as it was a sub zero weekend. Very, very kind. The location is great for those with vehicles to travel around the Island and come back to some peace and quiet and the site has some beautiful views in the morning of the downs! I can imagine this is definitely one of the more popular sites in the summertime and we feel very lucky to have snapped up a winter deal!

Staying in winter it is a very quiet and peaceful place to stay. Very muddy when we went but a pair of wellies and you're fine. We couldn't drive up because of the rain but Thomas helped us move our stuff from our car to the dome. Lovely stay overall would just recommend head touch and wellies.

Nice location and clean. On arrival we were greeted by a rather abrupt and rude welcome. Yes it was dark and late but when we asked a simple question about when can we drive up to the lodge we got a reply of ‘if I see you drive up here you will be removed immediately’ nothing about when we could for the rest of the stay which is what we asked. The bumpy gravel track was ‘too dangerous’ to drive down in the dark (with headlights) and ‘far to wet an we could get stuck’ in our 4x4 (the track was a little bit muddy which non 4x4 cars drove be up the following morning with no problems. No wood or lighters were supplied or discussed where we could get it from the location. So the first night was pretty chilly for our 2 kids under 6. We got our own wood and lighters for the next night. We were also asked by the guest next door who also didn’t have anything an we showed them and gave them our supplies for a fire.

The dome was spacious and clean. Having a log burner meant we could heat up the space easily. There were some lights inside and a few USB sockets. There was drinking water just outside our space and shared toilets at a short walk. There was a table and chairs which we could use. We brought our own inflatable bed . (There is no bed/ or sleeping mat provided-as described ) There were 3 or 4 showers, one of them had warm water an other didn’t work very well. The areas were kept clean . There is some woodland nearby and a road not far. Thomas was very friendly and answered the phone straight away when we arrived. He explained clearly how to find our dome. He made it clear that we could cal back if we had any needs. Overall it was a lovely stay , matching perfectly with its description
