Welcome to beautiful Howe Island - roughly 30-40 minutes from downtown Kingston, Howe is one of the biggest of the Thousand Islands and features walking trails, two boat launches and two ferries allowing easy access to the island 24 hours a day. Our newly renovated cottage is situated on the south shore of the island with expansive views, clear deep water, a large deck and a new dock with waterside fire pit area. This rental is idea for two families, or a group of friends! Our tiny 650 square foot cottage and two bunkies have everything you need and nothing you don't! Two of the bedrooms are located in the main cottage - one has a bunk bed (single on the top and double on the bottom) and the other a queen. The third and fourth bedrooms are located in bunkies a few steps from the main cottage. The cottage has a full septic system and uses river water (not drinkable, but fine for dishes and showers). The cottage has WIFI, a trampoline and play structure - so kids and adults have everything they need!
Anyone wanting to escape to a little piece of heaven need not look any further! This charming cottage with amazing views of the St. Lawrence River is it. From the private treed location, massive outdoor deck and sound system, space to play outdoors, water's edge fire pit, to the clean, modern interior of the cottage and bunkie, everything is accounted for to make your getaway truly relaxing and comfortable. This is a great find and we can't wait to go back!
If I could give the Haven 6 stars I would! We were here for a family weekend away. We were thrilled with the indoor spaces and most of all the outdoor space! BIG deck with views of the water or if you want to be even closer to the water you can pull out one of the lounge chairs on the dock. The Haven was clean, modern but rustic at the same time, the bunker was a great spot to sleep at night and even take an afternoon nap. We will be back!
This is our second time staying at this awesome spot! As soon as you cross over on the ferry you feel like 'vacation-mode switched on'. This place is on a quiet dead-end road with mature trees and an awesome access and view of the St. Lawrence waterways. You'll be just a few minutes' drive from either Kingston or Gananoque. The built-in sound system inside and out is an awesome perk, and the 'bunkie' is a great bonus to the property. Having a fire on the lower level of the property by the dock and close to the water is a great end to the day at the 'Haven'. Will be visiting again!
