The Deer Retreat If you are looking for total privacy, high-end living, and remoteness yet are only 5-8 minutes from restaurants and shopping in lovely Sebastopol, the Deer Retreat is a clear choice. The pictures do not showcase just how expansive this property is–inside and out. This home is beautifully decorated, appointed, and painted. The primary suites have gorgeous and spacious bathrooms with deep tubs and roomy walk-in showers. Enjoy a 100% connected home with Apple Home Pods in all common areas and several of the bedrooms, so telling Siri to play music or turn on or off lighting is a breeze. Backyard: The pool, hot tub, and covered outdoor grill/dining area are massive, and no other homes are looking into the backyard. The yard faces West, so you’ll get plenty of sunlight until dusk. Owner did not make the backyard hospitable to guests. Overgrown weeds with ticks (husband and dog bit), inoperable pool heater, moldy/dead insect riddled outdoor umbrellas, filthy deck with leaves/branches and heavy pollen/dust covered. Water was yellow/cloudy when we arrived, within 24 hours a new water filter installed and flushing water lines seem to fix. Doorframe to outside of house crumbled when opened. Host expected us to stay in the house while he scrambled to get things fixed. As the issues mounted, host was nonresponsive for over 8 hours. No smoke alarms in the majority of the house. Very disappointing. AirBnb Customer Service was very responsive and got us out of the house the very day we called with a refund of the $ balance we paid.

This is the only Airbnb I’ve stayed at more than once and I can’t wait to come back a third time! This place is perfect - stylish, private, great amenities and a short drive from town. This is certainly the best Airbnb I’ve been to!

We were two couples sharing the house, and the double master suites made everyone comfortable and provided privacy. Even though it rained, and we weren’t able to use the pool, we found the house to be a peaceful retreat. The surroundings are beautiful and the home is well-appointed and comfortably furnished. Thank you for a perfect weekend!

Large house with lots of fun things to do. Beds and linens were super comfy and bathrooms were beautiful! Easy to get to but not really walkable to anything.
