A very nice cottage, three good size bedrooms. Spacious bathrooms. Good sized kitchen, dinning at the kitchen island.

Great location, nice cottage. Use of hotel restaurant and bar with walks. Internet poor, but it is in the sticks so expect that. Ideal for dog owners and dog lovers as estate is dog friendly and there were a few.

Discovery Cottage was perfect for a reunion of three couples with the three double en-suite bedrooms and comfortable lounge. It was clean, welcoming and warm when we arrived with a little hamper of goodies. Downstairs bedroom important for one of our group who struggles with stairs. Well placed for visits to Whitby, Staithes and Sandsend. We didn’t want to watch much TV on the huge screen except news and MOTD but I think the Wi-Fi struggled at times with iPlayer. Nice walk to the lake and the Raithwaite Hall hotel gardens. We had a meal there as it was so near and didn’t involve driving. The meal was ok but not particularly special - fish and chips at the Magpie in Whitby really is as good as they say it is.
