My stay at Artist's Way was both peaceful and comfortable. I was able to enjoy morning walks in a quiet and beautiful neighborhood, drink a cup of coffee (provided by Ann) on the front porch and still quickly get to my son's home by driving across the VT campus. It was a busy week with graduations and students moving out on campus and the surrounding hotels were beyond busy; staying at Ann's Airbnb provided a peaceful respite when I needed some time away from the hustle and bustle. It was my first experience with an Airbnb, but I feel Ann went above and beyond to make sure I was well looked after, even leaving the front porch light on for my arrival in case I didn't make it to their home before dark. There was fresh half and half in the refrigerator for my coffee, and plenty of snacks if I had needed one. The bed linens were fresh, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was well stocked with everything you could need if you happened to forget something. Parking was easy and safe.

Ann’s place is in a quiet neighborhood close to Virginia Tech. Two of us stayed five nights to visit our daughter, a student who lives downtown. Street parking in front was very easy. The apartment itself was just as described and extremely clean. We really enjoyed their fabulous art and book collections, comfortable beds, thoughtful layout and extras like quality coffee and fresh half and half in the refrigerator. We had cold weather— including early April snow flurries— so we didn’t sit out on their spacious, private front porch, but that is a great perk. The front garden is spectacular! If you like craft beer and great food, be sure to visit Rising Silo and Eastern Divide. No visit to Blacksburg is complete without at least one meal at Gillie’s (great vegan options) and coffee and vegan pastries at Bolo’s. We also enjoyed The Cellar, Souvlaki, Green’s, and Cabo Fish Taco as well as the Saturday (and Wednesday) farmer’s market and walking on the Huckleberry Trail. We hope to return!

Ann and Larry were such wonderful hosts during my month long stay. Moving to a new state is tough but they were so kind and helpful. Ann and Larry definitely went above and beyond for me and I could not speak more highly of them. Artist's Way was so cute and homey and the neighborhood was beautiful and quiet. 10/10 would stay again.
