Do Not Book until reading this listing & House Rules/Manual entirely for rules to bring a dog and NO REFUND within 24 Hours Including Instant Book. This is a 501c3 Nonprofit Dog Hospice/Sanctuary for Abused, Handicapped and Senior Dogs. 2 cats live in Airbnb space. We are close to Chicago & Lake Michigan. Beaches, hiking & biking trails are nearby. Downtown Chesterton has antique stores. Read about our shelter on social media under Petite Trésors Rescue & Sanctuary. Check out our Experiences All the bedrooms are on the second floor. There is a full bath upstairs and a full bath downstairs off the foyer. There is a large family room upstairs with the bedrooms as well as a balcony overlooking the farm. Guests may bring their dog but only after furnishing the necessary documentation stated in the House Manual. We do not accept cats or other animals. Smoking indoors is allowed, however, not in bedrooms. But in the interest of full discloser, this may not be your idea of heaven. You see, this farm is exactly what it says, a sanctuary. The dogs live in the house with us. They are not in kennels, or out in the barn, but with us every day for the rest of their lives. That being said, we can separate you from the dogs should that be your desire. But what we can't do is promise that you will never hear them or be confronted by an odor if one has an accident. We ask every guest to please let us know if there are any issues. We want every guest who loves dogs as much as we do to have the very best experience they can. And if we ask you when you are leaving if there were any issues, or suggestions, if you don't let us know, we can't very well make your experience better. Telling us it was too hot or too cold when you leave is not helping you or us when we can make an adjustment immediately. We have been fortunate to have been given 5 stars by most of our guests and we have had people who have only been passing through tell us that they would not only return but have our farm be their destination.
Mary and Rich have a very cool place. Not only is it a non-profit sanctuary for older dogs, it is a beautiful old farmhouse on many acres of land, where the Airbnb rooms are on a separate side of the house from the main living area and we felt quite at home. They currently have 18 happy older dogs! We did not share space with the doggies, although we met them the last time we stayed, at our request, and they were a joyous group indeed! Great stay, excellent value, highly recommend!
Mary and Rich were excellent hosts and extremely responsive to my messages. Rich gave us a sneak peak of all the dogs they had rescued which was so wonderful to witness and warmed my heart to the core to hear some of their stories. For having 18, they really didn't bark much except when my mom and I dared to open the front door and disturb their peace. Haha! My mom and I were the only ones who booked a room the evening we stayed so we had the whole upstairs to ourselves. Well... And the two adorable kitties. One of which stayed in the bed with us which I was more than happy to share cause it made me feel right at home. They have a beautiful home in a beautiful neighborhood and I wish I had more time to spend roaming the grounds and to relax out in the gazebo. It was a very peaceful stay and I will definitely book again if I head their way. If you're an animal lover like I am, this is the place for you. Not to mention you'll have fresh coffee waiting for you in the morning as you awake.

自我介绍
We created our Dog Hospice in 2014 to give refuge to abused, handicapped and senior dogs. Please understand that the reason we only allow bookings with a dog to people who understand that the house rules concerning having your veterinarian email us your dogs records is not simply for our concern for our rescues but for all the dogs who visit us as guests also. Every cent of your stay goes directly to our 501c3 Nonprofit.
