We enjoyed an excellent long weekend in the Old Smithy, it's a great base for walking in the area. The cottage is very quiet, comfortable and cosy, and the nearby pub is a great place to eat and relax at the end of the day.

I had a fabulous time, Ann looked after me very well even providing brilliant instructions from Beguildy to my ultimate destination at Moor Hall Studio. My course there was fantastic as was the Radnorshire Arms next door. The Old Smithy was delightful and had everything I needed.

Lovely cosy cottage, however although the cottage was described as dog friendly this did not include the garden therefore we had to take the dog along the road first thing in the morning and last thing at night. The pub next door also did not allow dogs and as we we're not allowed to leave the dog in the cottage we had to travel 7 miles for a meal. The cottage was described as having a dedicated work space with wifi, however there was no room and no consistent wifi. The television also did not work. Due to the remote position of the cottage these facilities we're really necessary for us.

A great place for a mini-break over the festive period. We enjoyed a few restful days in this pleasant dog-friendly accommodation. Ann, Trevor and their family were very friendly and helpful and on hand when needed. The village is charming, with a beautiful church and stunning scenery all around. We visited the Elan Valley and several ancient churches in the vicinity. There's so much history in the area and lots of wonderful wildlife! A lovely stay all round.
