The owner was great, friendly, and helpful with anything we were interested in, in fact very accessible always. The description of the cottage was exactly accurate, it's a cottage, nothing fancy. It had everything you could want and then some. Fishing was great off the dock, would be great for kids. It's a busy lake so if you are looking for a quiet lake this isn't the place for you. We enjoyed watching the families tubing, water-skiing, and fishing. We rented a boat from Lakeshore Marina which I would highly recommend they were awesome and it allowed for day trips instead of using a water taxi. Overall, we spent most of time on the amazing deck and dock.

The cottage is right on the lake. Parts of the deck actually overhang the lake. This results in having a 180 degree view of the lake from east to west! We kayaked, paddle boarded, waterskied, water tubed, hiked some of the rock and woodlands around the lake, and visited Parry Sound twice in the two weeks we stayed here. This is a great place to stay if you want to get back in touch with nature and bring or rent a boat/watercraft. Even a canoe would be sufficient for you to access this cabin reasonably if you don’t mind a 30-45 minute paddle each way. During our stay the temperatures peaked around 28-30 deg C - but as the prevailing winds generally seem to trend from the west the cabin stayed surprisingly comfortable by opening doors and windows. The power was out when we arrived - we are not sure if it was due to a storm or scheduled maintenance but it came back on around 10:00 pm that evening. The owner responded quickly with any questions we had which was very much appreciated.

e stayed at Jack’s place the last week of August and were super excited to get there as it was our only week of holidays. When we arrived at the marina it was very confusing where to go, where to park, where to drop the trailers and how to get to the cottage once we got our boat in the water. I called James, Jack’s son, and he was very helpful over the phone and did his best to help us get that sorted. The marina staff happened to be away when we arrived so trying to get help from them was difficult, but once we found them they were very helpful and nice. We had to be patient with the kids in the hot sun but once we got that all sorted we thought “finally, let’s just get to the cottage!” Upon arriving at the cottage we noticed part of the dock was broken when one of us almost broke through the dock into the water. Nothing to warn us of that. But, there were two docks to park the boats so that was handy. Went inside to check the place out and it was spacious with three bedrooms, 2 of them being conjoined which was not a problem for us. But! Once I went to the kitchen to start unpacking coolers the fridge had food in it. I’m not talking just condiments - there were cooked meals of leftovers and some rotting mushrooms, expired eggs and milk and the fridge itself was not clean. There was even food left on the counter. I had to clean out the fridge completely just to put our own food in there. Counters and drawers were sticky. Coffee left in the coffee maker. Not a great start. Go to the washroom - wasn’t cleaned AT ALL. Dirty toilet and garbage not cleaned out. Gross. I check out the wrap around deck and there is a gazebo with the cushions to put in the chairs. The gazebo was dirty and there was mouse crap all over. Can’t control that, but seemed like it hadn’t been used in a while. A few of the chairs had burn holes in them (not a huge deal) but then there were 3 broken wooden chairs - one in the gazebo, one on the deck and one smashed behind the cottage. I had to clean out the gazebo just to use the items in it. I let James know that the place wasn’t clean and he apologized and offered to give us our cleaning deposit back, which he did and sent quickly via etransfer. All in all, wasn’t the best experience we’ve had. When you’re spending your hard earned money on your one week away you want to relax and enjoy it. I felt disappointed and frustrated. We still made the most of it, but we would not rent this cottage again.

This place was amazing. Two adults and two kids (7 and 5) for an entire week and it had everything we could have possibly wanted. The value was amazing for having all of the creature comforts of home and being able to open one of the sliding patio doors to a deck hanging over the water. Our hosts were great and very easy to get in touch with to answer any questions we had. Will definitely be booking again.

Very nice location right over the water. Beautiful sunrise and sunsets. Great communication with owners. Cottage is basic and rustic, but a great place to hang out for a week.
