Upstairs is for guests with 3 BR and 2 BA (2 queens & 1 double bed). Third BR is best suited to 1 adult or 2 children (limited closet space). Cozy LR, DR and kitchen on 1st floor. Beautiful outdoor space with waterfall. Great restaurants nearby. Four Metro stops to downtown. We have a suite in the basement and share the 1st floor with guests. NOTE: guest dogs are accepted on a case by case basis. We have a big, friendly Lab. If you don't love dogs, please don't request to book with us. Each of the two larger bedrooms on the second floor are spacious and bright with a queen bed, closet, dresser, desk and clock radio. The master also has a private bath and satellite TV. The third upstairs bedroom has a double bed and shares a hall bath with the second bedroom. It has very limited closet space is best suited for one adult or 1-2 children. No one sleeps upstairs and this area is reserved specifically for guests. The basement suite is our personal space and is not available for rent. The first floor consists of a charming kitchen and cozy dining room and living room combo, both with seating for six. Please note that we are happy to share the kitchen but it is small so storage space is limited and we ask that guests not plan to cook major meals (light meal prep, use of microwave and frig for take out etc. is fine).

Friendly and responsive hosts. Place as described. Really lovely garden. Beds have foam pads so not great if need back support.
Sheri's place is beautiful and tranquil, with comfortable beds, a well stocked kitchen and gorgeous outside spaces. Spring is a great time to visit her home! She's friendly and welcoming along with her wonderful chocolate lab! We will be back!
We had a delightful stay with Sheri, Lot, and their beautiful dog, Kobe! All three were super friendly and made us feel like family. Their home is on a lovely, tree lined street, plenty of street parking available, and walkable to excellent restaurants (be sure to try Heritage India, Sfoglina (Italian), and Silver (American)), and a 10 minute walk to two subway stations that are a few stops from the Smithsonian and all the DC attractions. Sheri was extremely responsive and at the ready to serve. Be sure to include their home in your next DC visit! Thank you Sheri!

Sheri was a fantastic host. Not only was the accommodation perfect for our trip, but it was comfortable, safe, quiet, and a nice, safe location to walk around. There are three beds and two bathrooms (be aware that one of the tubs is a little slippery, but no other issues than that!), and plenty of space in the upstairs. The living room is also a perfect place to have a cup of coffee in the morning. Sheri was incredibly helpful about working with us as our trip had to be adjusted at the last minute. She remained in communication with me the entire time and was flexible in ensuring we had a great place to stay. I would definitely stay with her again. Having her awesome dog as your greeter doesn't hurt! The location is perfect for academic conferences and is close to other transit options for getting around DC. Sheri also has a notebook of local restaurants and other attractions, I highly recommend taking a look through it!

Our house is located on a quiet tree-lined street in the very safe, convenient and charming historic neighborhood of North Cleveland Park. We have lovely neighbors from Italy, France, Britain, South Africa, China, Australia and many other countries. I've lived in DC for 30 years - always within a one mile radius of where we are now - and truly believe that we are in the best location in the city.
We are within walking distance of the Red Line Metro, American University, UDC, numerous shops, bars, sidewalk cafes, grocery stores, theaters, libraries, playgrounds, tennis courts, gyms, beauty salons and spas, 25+ embassies, the National Cathedral, National Zoo and Rock Creek Park with 32 miles of hiking and biking trails, picnic areas and horseback riding.
We are a ten minute walk to both the Van Ness and Tenleytown Red Line Metro stations, and 4-6 stops to downtown and the Smithsonian museums, National Mall, monuments etc. There is also a direct bus to Georgetown less than three blocks from the house (Georgetown has no Metro). Bicycle and Zip car rentals are available within a five minute walk. There is free parking directly in front of the house with a pass that we will provide to you if you let us know in advance that you will be coming by car. We can also make our garage available if necessary.

We're a couple in our 60’s (ex Peace Corps types) who welcome folks from all walks of life to come stay with us at our primary home in Washington, DC or rent our vacation condo in Bethany Beach, Delaware. We're friendly, adventurous, respectful non-smokers who have both traveled and lived abroad in many countries. Lot is a non-profit executive who works with housing and community development initiatives, and Sheri is retired from managing K-12 public education programs. We live in the Cleveland Park North section of DC which is one of the prettiest, safest, most convenient and charming neighborhoods in the city. Our favorite activities include hiking with our goofy Lab, Kobe, spending time with family and friends, relaxing at our beach house, exploring other cultures, cooking, golfing, snorkeling, gardening, drinking wine and riding horses. One of us also loves football. The other, not so much!
