After 2 long years of no travel, this was our first trip back to the Spanish Costa's. We are a family of 6, 2 adults, 2 teens and 2 under 10. Check in was via a property management company based in a handy position in Cambrils and was stress free. We arrived at the property and as soon as we opened the gate we could see that we were going to have issues. The outside dining areas was covered in bird droppings and when i say covered, i mean weeks worth. the BBQ, which was in the same area looked like it had never been cleaned. There was residue of previous occupiers food and the base of the bbq was a greasy mess. Moving on we entered the villa. There was a floor brush which was absolutely covered in hair, a mop that was black with dirt and kitchen cupboards that looked like they hadn't seen a cloth since before covid. There was also a strange smell coming from the fridge, which i never managed to figure out. The shower was, ironically, dirty, mould on the tiles and a glass door full of streaks and grime. Beds not made for arrival, so another thing that we had to do ourselves after a long day travelling. The real pièce de résistance was the pool area. The pool itself was totally shocking. I have stayed in many villas across Europe and never have i seen one in such a dirty state. There were even snails living on the bottom of the pool. If you google "snails in swimming pool" it says that snails are extremely rare in a pool and that the chlorine will kill them. Well, these snails were very much alive, which begs the question, where was the chlorine? We immediately contacted the management company who informed us that they would arrange for a pool cleaner and general cleaner to attend the property first thing the next morning. Sufficed to say, the 2 cleaners did not arrive first thing. By 11am we had had enough and got in the car to go back to the offices of the management company. Shockingly, the management company didn't show too much concern at all. Apparently they had never had any complaints before. I don't expect the Ritz but i do expect a level of cleanliness that means that we don't need to carry out our own deep clean upon arrival. After much hustling and bustling the office informed us that the cleaners were now at the property. We hopped back in the car and sure enough they were there when we got back. The pool cleaner advised that the pool hadn't been cleaned for over a month, there were no filters set to come on and so effectively the pool had become a glorified pond. I stood and watched as he poured nearly a full 10L bottle of chlorine into the pool and advised that the pool would not be fit to use for at least 6-7 hours. That was the final straw and we decided to leave and book an alternative villa in Empuriabrava, which by the way was unreal! The final insult was the lady who was cleaning the BBQ saying that maybe the snails were just calling in for a drink. If it was a Monty Python sketch i would have found it funny but when it was a much anticipated break away with the family it was poorly timed. Anyway, in short i would say don't bother with this property if you want a nice relaxing, clean stay in Cambrils.

Maison agréable même si un peu vieillotte dans l ensemble mais il y a vraiment tout ce qu il faut et la climatisation est appréciable. L extérieur est vraiment très agréable et la piscine est vraiment top. L emplacement est idéale la plage est à 5 minutes à pied.. Petit bémol sur le ménage qui était un peu limite mais l agence est vraiment à l écoute et très réactivite c est très appréciable. Nous avons passé vraiment un super séjour nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir.
