Super place to stay, secure onsite parking, pub near by, Co-op next door for easy stocking up of supplies. Peaceful, warm and cozy.

We stayed for 10 days here - it is a sizeable ground floor flat in a house subdivided into three flats and did lack natural light as a result. The picture was a bit misleading as it gave the impression of being a cottage. It was well equipped and furnished and everything worked! Parking at the rear was initially difficult to locate but there was plenty of space and it was secure. Loftus is a small town, a bit run down but the people are really friendly and it is a very good location for the north Yorkshire coast and the Moors National Park. We particularly liked Saltburn by the Sea and there is a very good bus service to Whitby.

I would highly recommend this place to stay. Shirley is a very friendly helpful host and Penfold is very comfortable and homely. There is everything you need here for a relaxing break and to enjoy exploring the local area. I would love to come back again.
