Neil is the perfect host, he had left us a lovely welcome package with supplies for breakfast. He met us at the cottage, which was lovely, adding the personal touch. The cottage had a log burner, which Neil had all set just ready to be lit, there was also a full basket of logs with more in the shed, if required. The cottage was lovely and cosy, Neil had even turned on the electric blanket for us, which was much appreciated, as it was quite wild when we arrived. The cottage is in a lovely rural setting right at the edge of the Galloway Forest perfect for exploring. It felt like a home away from home, perfect. I would recommend this cottage to anyone looking for an escape from the busyness of everyday life. My only down point, was the internet was really slow, so my mum was unable to watch TV, but you don’t really need TV when you are surrounded with the beautiful countryside. I would definitely come back to this wee retreat.

Everything I needed and just as described, food and milk in the fridge so couldn’t ask for any more and I would definitely stay again.

Neil is a great host, met us at the cottage, left us some bread, eggs, milk and bacon in the fridge and have even turned the electric blanket on for us. The location of the cottage is amazing. There is an off road path into the forest, where there are fabulous walks and cycle trails. The cottage could do with some updating.

Neil was there to welcome us and gave recommendations for eating out as the pub next door was temporarily closed. We know the area and love it, great walks etc. The cottage is cozy with a log burner and even with it off the heater keeps it warm. If I had to say something not so great, the chair and sofa are not so comfortable n sitting room (the chair especially could do to be replaced as losing its cushioning) but okay. The garden has a few friendly Robins and a blue tit that comes and sits on the back door - which was amazing to watch, so bring some bird food and you will get a great wee show from them. secure back garden for our dog which he loved. Overall, had a brilliant time for our last-minute break and will defo be back and already recommended it to friends.

Last minute booking. Neil very good at getting in touch and met us at the cottage, he left us supplies of milk, bread & eggs which was very welcome. Kind & considerate host. The property is as described. Very cosy and warm. Wonderful walking very close by. Lovely meal at the pub next door.
