We had a great stay at Kirsty’s place. Stunning view from the balcony and very cute cottage with lots of cosy seating areas. The kitchen is really well equipped and it was great to have a few things like bread, eggs and milk on arrival. There are plenty of pubs nearby and we got fish and chips from the Mayflower. We also enjoyed coffee and cake over the road at the Hatch. There are tons of places to eat on the Broadway (up a steep hill) and a little play area on the way there which our son enjoyed. You can hear the trains going past and some noise from people walking past outside (especially from the double bedroom) but we didn’t find that this disturbed us.

We (2 adults & 3 children aged 14, 13, 10) stayed in Cooper Cottage at the end of March 2024 and had a lovely time. The cottage was clean, well-organised, well-stocked and comfortable, as well as perfect for our needs in terms of size, space and location. Although there were 5 of us, we were all able to have our own space because of the 3 floors, and there are plenty of places to sit and read/watch TV etc. I would recommend this place for a family with kids aged 8-15 (the top stairs might be a challenge/temptation for younger ones). Locally we were able to shop on foot at Co-Op or Tesco (over the footbridge and up the "creepy steps" to the Church graveyard and Leigh Broadway) or Waitrose on the London Rd. Leigh Broadway has loads of shops, and the Salt Beef Sandwich at Hippo's Cafe is a must. Leigh stn (for London) is also only 5 mins walk (ask about a family travelcard inc. tube/buses, which cost us only 50 pounds). Walking into Southend along the Thames is also a nice day out.

Just a lovely, lovely cottage with a lovely, lovely host. We'll definitely be back for our third serving of cosy and comfortable, we already can't wait!
