Feliz 2 is exquisitely unique and has beautiful wall-painted art. There are 3 toilets, 2 showers, and 2 sinks, separate from one another, so there is never a wait time. Set in the valley of Tzununá at Lake Atitlán among the Guatemalan highlands, Doron Yoga offers daily yoga classes and Zen philosophy practices. Free WiFi is available! You are welcome to join us for yoga classes for a small fee and breakfast lunch or dinner. Meals need advanced notice and are at an additional charge. Doron Yoga Retreat Center is set in the gorgeous tiny lake town of Tzununa, Lake Atitlan, Guatemala. The nearby river flows through our land, where we support an organic farm and lots of gardens. Doron Yoga also offers daily yoga classes, the Mayan "sauna" or temazcal, zen dance, massages, and other optional activities that can be enrolled in at additional cost. Guests can enjoy the outdoor garden areas with hammocks and outdoor furniture. They can refresh themselves in the river that’s running right through the center or in the lake that's a short five minute walk away. You can also take a walking meditation by yourself along the paths of the gardens designed based on permaculture principles. Additionally, you can visit the charming and diverse villages around the lake to enjoy different excursions and local culture. The restaurant provides well-balanced, vegetarian cuisine with the option of being vegan and gluten-free if desired. We make use of our land by growing a variety of local vegetables, herbs, and fruits. Our fresh, homemade lunch and dinner are available upon request for an additional fee.
This place is beautiful. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, the room was very clean and the meals were delicious. Doran’s yoga sessions were a great start to the day. He doesn’t take life or yoga too seriously and if you’re not up to speed or of high yogi standard, there’s no judgement, everyone is made welcome. The location is peaceful and the surroundings are lovely. I would recommend a stay here.
doron yoga is a beautiful space the place itself is immuculate. meals are a little pricey at 60Q per every meal - but they are healthy and delicious. doron himself and his yoga style isn't my cup of tea I prefer slower flowing yoga- but the rest of the staff and volunteers are absolutely lovely. just a few small things that I found a bit silly - once I put my breakfast Aside as I had a work call and came back just after 9.30 when breakfast ended to retrieve it and asked for a coffee (which is included in the 60q breakfast) and the main staff member said no I'd have to pay for it as it was after the time breakfast had ended which I found a bit mean and pedantic. this is definitely a place to come if you are here to be chilled but disciplined also. but overall it's lovely.
A great place with a stunning view if you're yoga and zen minded. Take in mind that Tzununa is a really quiet place with no restaurants or coffee shops (yet). However, this is a perfect way to experience authentic lake atitlan way of living. And San Marcos is really easy accessible with the boat. Overall we had a pleasant stay.
!!! Please note !!!
We are located in Tzununá, Calle Rio Tzununá 1 is our official address - not in Panajachel; the map shows the correct location. Please follow our instructions below for how to find us.
!!! Please note !!!
From Guatemala city airport or Antigua please take a shuttle to Panajachel from where you will need to take a boat to Tzununa (one stop before San Marcos) Tuk-tuk drivers at the Tzununa dock know where we are located and will bring you safe and sound to the entrance of the Doron Yoga.
An array of activities in the area include hiking to Tzununa waterfalls, visiting the spiritual village of San Marcos, going to a local market in San Pedro or immersing in Guatemalan coffee, chocolate, weaving or permaculture workshops we can help you to organize. You also have the opportunity to explore the cities of the lake on your own. It takes only 10 min to get to San Marcos by tuk-tuk. It is just a 10 min walk to get to the dock, where the taxi boats stop to take you to all the towns around the lake.
Around the lake there are no paved roads, while main 'public' transportation is via taxi boats and tuk-tuk's are available for short rides as well. There is the possibility to arrange shuttle drivers upon request.
