Manchester Central Library is the headquarters of the city's library and information service in Manchester, England. The form of the building, a columned portico attached to a rotunda domed structure, is loosely derived from the Pantheon, Rome. The library building is grade II listed.
Neoclassical rotunda built with Portland stone - headquarter's of Manchester's Library and Information Services
Recently renovated, the circular Central Library on St Peter's Square is worth a visit just for the building, but also houses a vast collection of books and resources, including local history archives - all available to everyone for free. Cafe in the basement and excellent facilities for children.
