Extraordinary rock formations on Helman Tour - 5 minutes due north of us by car or 25 minutes cycle. My favourite local cycle path, you may cycle for hours along these Cornish lanes. Wonderful, quiet countryside. Good blackberries & sloes

Helman Tor is a natural Granite batholithe formed millions of years ago and a hidden gem of the Cornish landscape. Access is along narrow lanes and an unsurfaced , slopping car park. The last part must be completed on foot. If you love walking, views and the great outdoors then this is truly a wild place to visit. A longer walk can be achieved from the car park at the Crown Inn, Lanlivery (see review). Returning to a welcome pint and a bite to eat is very satisfying and well worth the effort. Take sturdy boots or wellies and your waterproofs as there will be mud if completing the longer walk. Can you find the Logan Stone? The rock that rocks!
