Pitoresque restaurant in pitoresque archipelago small town. The area has a strategic location for the defence of Stockholm and can boast the Vaxhol fortress, which can be visited. Early summer there is the vintage boat festival here. Museum on swedish costal defence open all year.

Vaxholm is one (out of 2) entrances/exits from to the baltic sea and the only place allowed for bigger boats. Vaxholm is one of the main docks for the archilepalgo ferries.
