Hipster place for drinks. Specially nice in Summer, with an Urban beach! It's situated in an old industrial area. Nice to visit!

It is a bit of a bike ride to get to Roest in the east of Amsterdam, but it is worth it. It banks on a canal, has a large terrace and café/shop, where you can buy drinks, boxes of crackers, cheese, crisps, cakes, even milk and cereal. The feeling is industrial, and the vibe is really relaxed. You could go there and combine it with a meal at Rosa & Rita, a nice converted shipbuilding hall where you can eat a fairly simple but tasty dinner. Located at: Jacob Bontiusplaats 1. Free tunes on a Friday or Saturday night! I don't go out dancing that often, but if I do I go here. It's free and laid-back. It's an industrial place where you can swim in summer. I know this combination sounds weird, just check out their facebook website.

A great bar/club in the east. Great all seasons. In the summer, enjoy a faux beach away from the crowds. Eclectic music themes. Check their schedule.
