The Atlas is the last of 139 mines that once ruled the valley. You'll find buildings, equipment, stories and artifacts of the men who mined the coal from 1936 to 1979. It's truly a unique and interesting place to visit. The movie "Hold the Dark" filmed some scenes here. Open to visitors May - Thanksgiving weekend

Actually a lot more fun and informative than its sounds. Great for families. Plan and book ahead.
