I love this place! We've walked out to the island many times, at low tide and high tide. Taken a picnic but there are bbq's available. The staff are very friendly and helpful. You'll see plenty of wildlife, stick to the walkway as there are snakes all around!

Tamar Island is a 4.3km, easy grade 1 hike located in the Tamar River Conservation Area, Tasmania. The hike should take around 1.5 hrs to complete.

Tamar Island is a pleasant 1 hour return walk across the wetlands. There is an interpretation centre close to the car park for more information about the environment, flora and fauna. See if you can find a plough growing in the tree if you walk out to the island!?!
