Don't let the campground fool you, there is a lot more to do here! This is the headquarters for Everglades Adventure Tours, which has been written about by the Boston Globe and Lonely Planet as one of the best ecotourism companies in the area. They have a unique pole boat tour, which mimics how the earliest settlers and Native Americans used to travel out in the Everglades which is a must-try and a unique way to see Big Cypress National Preserve. They also have a little zoo, which attracts regular visitors. This is also home of research being conducted on the skunk ape, our version of Big Foot. Be sure to ask in the gift shop more info about their proof of the skunk ape's existence in the Everglades...
