Makati does not have to be suffocating. Even if you find yourself tangled up in the shopping district, you can take a break from all that consumerism and surround yourself with the company of nature and a tiny bit of fresh air to recharge. Walking around Greenbelt Park may not offer you the contemplative silence your soul was hoping for, but it's a pretty relaxing spot to be in, with its zen-like gardens, lush greenery, fish ponds and fountains. If you're with kids, they can enjoy feeding the koi fishes as the park has a fishfood vending machine at Php 5 / "serving".
