We booked this salsa-making class as part of our 4-year wedding anniversary weekend, and it was such a memorable experience! We met our chef Jaz at the local mercado where we picked out fresh ingredients, then walked through her neighborhood to her cozy and authentically Mexican home. She made us feel so welcome and shared not just recipes but also the history and cultural background of each salsa. We made four delicious kinds (salsa verde, salsa macha, pico de gallo, and a red creamy salsa), then enjoyed them with quesadillas and refreshing homemade jamaica. Jaz’s knowledge, warmth, and energy made the whole class engaging and fun—we were chopping, roasting, blending, laughing, and learning the whole time. My husband especially loved the salsa macha! This is a truly authentic and humble experience, so it’s best enjoyed with an open mind and a respectful approach. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a real taste of Mexico City!
