Home Away From Home

A private self-contained lock-up and go guest suite with unrestricted 24/7 access. 2.5 km from Unisa, 10,2 km from Monash University, 12,3 km from University of Johannesburg (UJ) and 16 km from University of the Witwatersrand (Wits). Guests do not have to share any spaces within the home with any members of the household as it is a totally independent unit even though it is situated within the main house. The only shared areas are outside in the garden and at the pool.

Elandsrus is a secluded, off-grid hideaway on Hunters Hill Farm, named after the eland that wander past each morning. Wildlife sightings include zebra, wildebeest, ostrich, buck, baboons and, if you’re lucky, giraffe. Just a stone’s throw from Bothongo Lion and Rhino Park, yet wonderfully remote. Entirely off grid, the shower is heated by a donkey, wood-fired hot tub and solar lights -perfect for slow evenings, stars overhead, birdsong by day and jackals calling at dusk.

Peace & quiet and beautiful surroundings make this cottage very special and a birder's paradise! The cottage is pet-friendly.
