Campground w/ access to Navarro River - own tent

River's Bend Retreat is close to redwood forests, AV wine country, the Mendocino Coast and it's on the Navarro River with multiple access trails. You'll love our camping meadow with room to bring your own tent because of the natural setting, beautiful light of the meadow and shadowy forest, peacefulness, friendly locals. A great destination for individuals on personal retreat, couples, creatives who want time to write or draw, and families in a natural environment. Shared bathrooms & showers.

Canvas Bungalow

Tucked away in a private enclave on top of a mountain, the canvas bungalow offers a secluded, romantic escape. The bungalow has a queen mattress with fresh sheets, blankets, towels, and pillows. A small bedside table, a lantern, and light reading keeps things cozy inside. The compost toilet is steps away. There is a private hiking trail steps away with sweeping views of the valley and surrounding mountains. Note: • No campfires • No potable water • Pets allowed (fenced-in area onsite)

Shimmerback Creekside Glamping

Camp along our beautiful year-round creek and enjoy 150 magical acres of classic Mendocino woodlands. Stroll across our swinging bridge to take a dip in the swimming hole. Doze off in a hammock after a ridge-top hike. Soak in the wood fired hot tub under the stars. Guests have access to our outdoor kitchen, hot showers and toilet. There's even wifi. Shimmerback Ranch is a working farm and queer land community, with whom guests may share common facilities such as the kitchen and bathhouse.

This listing is for one of several campsites. You can book the entire property for a private event in a separate listing. Our property features year-round creeks, waterfalls, swimming holes, and forests of madrone, oak, fir, and manzanita. Wild horses roam the land, along with the other wild animals. There’s an ancient walnut grove, fruit trees, and a small pond at the very end of the road. Enjoy our sauna and outdoor bathtub. Access is via a 9-mile dirt road; 4WD/AWD highly recommended.
