The property is large and spacious with a good size pool and an amazing view. The decor is in keeping with the age and history of the property. Great location with easy access to many local towns and villages. However, there were quite a few niggles that stop me from giving it a 5-star rating. - The track up to the property is deeply rutted and covered with loose gravel. All 3 families choose to get out of their cars and walk up to lighten the load. And still the driver was sliding around and risking damage to the car. - There was only 1 working parasol on arrival giving shade for at most 4 people. When we raised this the owner sent a 2nd parasol as an Amazon delivery, but it was a cheap small one so only added shade for 2 more chairs - Property accommodates 16, but only has 8 sun loungers. And not all in full working order, some needed the backrest supported against a wall, on some the overhead shade no longer sat in place - The main house accommodates 8 and has 2 'bathrooms' . One is a shower room. The other has a bath with a shower screen and tap that has the connection for a shower head… but no shower hose/head. So it ended up with 7 of us sharing the shower room. - Not enough crockery in the main kitchen , eg only 10 dinner size plates - had to bring crockery through from secondary kitchenette -Told not to lose the keys as no spares available and we won't be able to get back in. (obviously not planning on losing them but seems short sighted for the property manager to not have a spare for emergencies) - Lighting circuit in the kitchen/diner section of the house blew on Saturday evening. Didn't get fixed until Tuesday. Individually none of these are dealbreakers, but collectively they just took the edge of the experience of staying there. The above didn't stop us from having an amazing holiday but I don't feel I can give it 5 stars.

The Villa il Convento was a dream-like place. We all – 10 persons and 2 dogs – just loved everything there; the house, the pool, the colours, the rooms, the enclosed grounds with the old olives and cypress trees, the historic atmosphere of the convent. We enjoyed every moment. The only minor drawback was the cooking island, which we found not very practical for cooking and lacking of some utensils such as big casseroles and good kitchen knives. But that was a minor detail that certainly did not spoil our enthusiasm. And then the help and service of Valentina was absolutely top. Thank you for a wonderful memorable experience.

The house was beautiful and myself and my group were in awe of our surroundings. The hosts went out of their way to accommodate us, including helping us with an early check in and providing support with testing. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend!

This villa is a hidden treasure. It is a little bit quirky with lots of bits and pieces in the house. It was a delight to stay there with 14 family and friends from around the world. Pleasant days relaxing by the pool surrounded by shady olive groves. Wonderful mealtimes eating outside. It's proximity to everywhere to visit in Umbria is exceptional. Can walk through a country lane to Uppello, the local village, that has one shop for essentials. Short drive to big town of Foligno where there is everything. Less than a half hour driveto most of the charming old hillside towns.

The stay in this villa was a very bad experience that I would advise anyone to avoid! The internet reception was completely absent most of the time. There is hardly any outdoor lighting between the two parts of the property (the villa and the separate apartment), as well as no light at all outside the apartment and the steps leading to its upper level. We actually needed to go around holding flashlights and escort our children when they wanted to go around outside. In addition, it must be noted that unlike the owner's claim, the property is NOT suitable for families with children!!! Because of the property's highly complex structure, our children easily lost orientation and were afraid to move around freely. Also inside there are many steep staircases and both refrigerators in the villa were located in small storage corners with stairs leading to them and you really have to watch your step. But above all, a very basic thing such as steady supply of hot water for shower was not provided. Eventually it turned out that the water heating system in the main villa relies solely on a solar system. So that after a few hours of lack of sunshine (such as late evening / after rainy and cloudy weather, as well as in early morning), there was no hot water for shower in the main villa. But instead of fixing the electricity-based water boiling system the owner blamed us for "extra consumption" with no proof of this whatsoever. I would recommend anyone considering this place to avoid from renting it!!
