Our time at the cottage was amazing. Especially if you are going with little ones. We had two kids, the age of two with us. There was room for pack and plays (a bit tight in the rooms but it worked), gates on the deck, a wonderful sandy beach entry to the water. A lot of sand toys, and boats for the rest of us to use! The bunkie was a great place to hang out at night while the littles slept. The wifi was a great bonus and allowed one of us to work a bit from this tranquil location. If anything needed to be replenished, stores were within 15-30 minute drive away. Thank you for allowing us to stay at your cottage, we will highly recommend it and talked about going back in future years!!!

We had an amazing week at the Cedar Retreat, paddleboarding, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, catching frogs and minnows, playing badminton, making campfires... it's a great place to connect with family. We really appreciated all the little extras for young children (baby gates, high chair, sand toys, etc). This cottage had it all: lots of space, a well-equipped kitchen, cozy common areas, the little beach, lots of water activities, not to mention a lovely lake and gorgeous night skies. The property is quite large so there was lots to explore, there was a special spot for everyone! Maxine was so helpful with any questions we had. We loved our stay and would definitely come back again and again!

We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Cedar Retreat cottage. Very comfortable living and sleeping accommodations for our group of 10. Lots of room to play games, discover interesting geology, enjoy a campfire, or simply relax in the hammock. The accessible sandy beach and quiet lake were great for swimming, paddling, and fishing. Hope to return again in the future.

What a wonderful property! It was quiet, private and had great views of the lake. Very friendly people all around the lake. Great bass fishing. Lots to do for kids - catching frogs or fishing in the lake. The beach is great and lots of kids toys. They have a great fire pit and lots of wood to use. The cottage was cozy and had what you needed for a nice stay. We had a lovely time at Maxine's place.

Maxine’s listing isn’t too good to be true, in fact it’s actually even better. She was so generous and communicative and helped with our many needs!! Such wonderful variety of water equipment (even more than you see here), kitchen is beautifully stocked (we did a ton of cooking and were never lacking), plenty of extra towels and supplies. The property is on a private lake that has only been parcelled off to only a few families, meaning there is SO much privacy and peace and quiet there. Not to mention no light pollution - you can just look up and you are in a no light area perfect for stargazing. The water is so clean and the beach is sandy rather than rocky or weedy, such a special pleasure to swim here. There were so many different options for dining areas and lounging areas, all very comfortably set up with extra luxuries like the 2 fire pits, citronella candles, hammock, great board game selection. There’s a hummingbird feeder on one of the decks that gets frequented very regularly by beautiful resident hummingbirds. There are adorable otters and turtles and bluejays and fish as neighbours. The bunkie is perfect for yoga. Need I say more! I just wish I could have stayed longer!
